Luke David

Luke is a Melbourne based photographer who specialises in landscape, urban and travel photography. Through his practice Luke seeks to investigate our relationship with the landscape and built spaces. This can involve anything from projects capturing sweeping picturesque vistas, expanses of trees killed by salinity, or small townships left behind in a march towards 'progress’. Luke is a frequent visitor to Lake Tyrrell and the surrounding areas of the Mallee, and is fascinated by the landscape and it’s changing nature.

Luke has participated in a number of exhibitions, including works shown at the Monash Gallery of Art and Perth Centre for Photography. He has been selected as a finalist in national and international competitions, such as the Australian Photographic Awards (Second Place), Australia's Top Emerging Photographer, the Head On Festival Landscape Prize, Perth Centre of Photography CLIP Award, and the Mullins Conceptual Photography Prize.

Luke has a commercial practice focussing on corporate photography, with some of his recent clients including the Victorian Pride Centre and the Melbourne University Dental School Postgraduate Association.
Luke is undertaking further study in photography at the prestigious Photography Studies College in Melbourne. He teaches beginner SLR and Smartphone photography on frequent photo walks in the city of Melbourne.
