Annette Kelly
I am an amateur photographer from Geelong who is enjoying retirement through my travels with the camera. My passion is Landscape and Astro photography.
On visiting Lake Tyrrell just recently, I was amazed at the beauty from dawn to dusk and beyond into the beautiful star studded night. I was blessed with little wind and clear skies at night, perfect for astro. The dawn broke with colours and reflections a photographer dreams about.
Lake Tyrrell is definitely on my bucket list to visit during a summer storm and early next year for the start of the Milky Way season in 2022.

Joanne Rovere
I am Jo Rovere, a photography enthusiast based in the Mallee. My images are fun, creative and reflect my love for travel and the natural world. I enjoy capturing and sharing my experiences, and feel fortunate to live on our amazing planet.
Cloud Rider... I had an idea. We grabbed a $1 bike from the tip on the way out of Swan Hill. Anything metal will begin to rust on contact with the salty Lake Tyrrell. It was a still June afternoon and the clouds were reflecting beautifully in the shallow water.
Crystallography... Salt crystals forming on bare branches create a stunning natural sculpture.

Dave Massey
We visited Sea Lake in mid September 2022, leaving grey old Melbourne and heading to a point far, far away. I expected a quiet country town, but the local warnings that it was “mad Monday” and the footy boys would take over the local pub, turned out to be true, and the town was alive.
Lake Tyrrell turned on its serene beauty as dusk turned to night, and for me this shot of the aluminium lounge seating captured the transition from day to night, and perhaps a physical connection the expanding universe. The lake was holding pink salty waters due to recent heavy rains, and the only animal life present appeared to be human.
Heinz Tilenius
Heinz was a locum GP in Sea Lake for several months in late 2022 and early 2023. He captured these photos when visiting Lake Tyrrell with his partner and our photographer in residence at the time, Vince Agostino.

Alex Barry
This image, "Sand Fossils" was the winner of the 2022 Knox camera club photography competition.
My name is Alex, I am a nurse and amateur photographer. I enjoy getting out with my camera and finding smaller scenes in a larger landscape. I find this process helps me unwind from the stress of working in a hospital, especially in the recent years of COVID.
I shot this image with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark 2 and my 60mm macro lens. Exposure was 1/100sec at f/5.6 ISO 800.
When I took this image, the sun was setting behind a very dense cloud bank, so not much colour was coming through on the horizon. I took my macro lens out and wandered along the lake's edge, looking at the interesting rock and sand patterns. I found this formation just as some golden light broke through the clouds. To me, the rocks form a perfect canine face, but others tell me they can see many different things in this image!
