Artist statement
Lake Tyrrell, May 2024
Lake Tyrrell reveals different secrets each time I visit and a 'birds eye view' enables me to better appreciate the colours, textures, shapes and form that have been carved by the elements and are also dependent on groundwater levels here. I called this image Peace Dove because this image reminded me of a white dove. Doves with an olive branch are used by many religious traditions as symbols of peace, freedom or love. I hope this dove also reminds you of our shared humanity and our common home.
