Artist statement
Lake Wahpool, May 2024.
About 130,000 years ago, both Lakes Wahpool and Timboram were connected to Lake Tyrrell and formed a giant lake called Chillingolah that was 13m deep. Millions of years ago, the lakes were part of the Murravian Gulf. While the lakes were mostly dry during this visit, these patterns in the landscape reminded me of the geological layers that have developed here over millions of years.
