Australia has undergone cycles of wetting and drying, creating inland seas that are now dry lakebeds etched in the landscape. They give us a glimpse into a past where megafauna roamed and megalakes dominated. When I looked down on this landscape, I thought I saw a giant centipede, highlighted by the last rays of a setting sun.
