Photos were judged based on technical execution, originality, and aesthetic quality. Here are the 3 winning images.

3rd place: Carol McAllister with "Family Time"

2nd place: Fred Stewart with "Above Calm Waters"

1st place: Alex Barry with "Sand fossils"

Winner's statement

My name is Alex, I am a nurse and amateur photographer. I enjoy getting out with my camera and finding smaller scenes in a larger landscape. I find this process helps me unwind from the stress of working in a hospital, especially in the recent years of COVID.

I shot this image with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark 2 and my 60mm macro lens. Exposure was 1/100sec at f/5.6 ISO 800.

When I took this image, the sun was setting behind a very dense cloud bank, so not much colour was coming through on the horizon. I took my macro lens out and wandered along the lake's edge, looking at the interesting rock and sand patterns. I found this formation just as some golden light broke through the clouds. To me, the rocks form a perfect canine face, but others tell me they can see many different things in this image!
